O’Reilly to chair QTIC

Gold Coast accommodation provider Shane O’Reilly has been appointed the new chairman of the state’s peak tourism body, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council.

Shane replaces outgoing chairman Stephen Gregg, who was recently appointed the new Tourism Queensland chairman.
Shane is the managing director of O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat and Canungra Valley Vineyards.
QTIC chief executive Daniel Gschwind said Mr O’Reilly would bring a wealth of experience to the organisation and help it continue to represent the state’s vital tourism industry.
“He has a considerable track record of running and developing successful tourism enterprises, including the iconic and historic O’Reillys Rainforest Retreat which has been an early pioneer in sustainable ecotourism development. Shane’s experience will be invaluable as QTIC is working with the Queensland government under the DestinationQ Partnership to re-vitalise tourism in the state, including through the more effective and sustainable use of our natural attractions.”
